Product Details
This enzyme is a thermolabile uracil N-glycosylase (UNG) obtained from Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua). UNG enzymes specifically hydrolyze the N-glycosidic bond of uracil residues in ss/dsDNA molecules leaving an abasic site in the strand but will not react with RNA. The optimal temperature range for Cod UNG activity is from 20-35 °C. The enzyme is rapidly and irreversibly inactivated at temperatures above 50 °C making it suited for carryover prevention in standard qPCR or RT-qPCR applications. It is active in most standard reaction buffers used for derivatives of Taq and Pfu DNA polymerases.
