Rabbit anti-COMT Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by A303-631A maps to a region between residue 221 and 271 of human COMT, Catechol-O-Methyltransferase using the numbering given in entry NP_000745.1 (GeneID 1312).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4. Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to COMT immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by A303-631A-T maps to a region between residue 221 and 271 of human COMT, Catechol-O-Methyltransferase using the numbering given in entry NP_000745.1 (GeneID 1312).
Additional Product Information
Catechol O-mehtyltransferase (COMT) catalyzes the O-methylation, and thereby the inactivation, of catecholamine neurotransmitters and catechol hormones. Also shortens the biological half-lives of certain neuroactive drugs, like L-DOPA, alpha-methyl DOPA and isoproterenol [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/ P21964].
Alternate Names
catechol O-methyltransferase; catechol-O-methyltransferase isoform; epididymis secretory sperm binding protein Li 98n; HEL-S-98n; testicular tissue protein Li 42
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
