Production Procedures
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to KIF20B immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by A305-606A maps to a region between residue 825 to 875 of human Kinesin-like protein KIF20B using the numbering given in entry Q96Q89.3 (GeneID 9585).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Additional Product Information

Kinesin family member 20B (KIF20B) is a plus-end-directed motor enzyme that is required for completion of cytokinesis (PubMed:11470801, PubMed:12740395). KIF20B is required for proper midbody organization and abscission in polarized cortical stem cells. It plays a role in the regulation of neuronal polarization by mediating the transport of specific cargos. KIF20B participates in the mobilization of SHTN1 and in the accumulation of PIP3 in the growth cone of primary hippocampal neurons in a tubulin and actin-dependent manner. In the developing telencephalon, KIF20B cooperates with SHTN1 to promote both the transition from the multipolar to the bipolar stage and the radial migration of cortical neurons from the ventricular zone toward the superficial layer of the neocortex. It is involved in cerebral cortex growth (By similarity). KIF20B acts as an oncogene for promoting bladder cancer cells proliferation, apoptosis inhibition and carcinogenic progression (PubMed:17409436). [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q96Q89].

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
