Additional Product Information

Nuclear factor of activated T cells 1(NFAT1) is a member of the NFAT family of transcription factors which includes NFAT1 (NFATp/NFATc2), NFAT2 (NFATc/NFATc1), NFAT3 (NFATc4), and NFAT4 (NFATc3/NFATx). Different members of the NFAT family are expressed in a distinct but overlapping set of cell types. NFAT1 plays a role in the inducible expression of cytokine genes in T-cells, especially in the induction of the IL-2, IL-3, IL-4, TNF-alpha or GM-CSF. NFAT1 is a member of the multicomponent NFATC transcription complex that consists of at least two components, a pre-existing cytoplasmic component NFAT1 and an inducible nuclear component NFAT2 [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/ Q13469].

Alternate Names

NFAT pre-existing subunit; NFAT transcription complex, preexisting component; NFAT1; NFATc2; NF-ATc2; NFATP; NF-ATp; nuclear factor of activated T-cells, cytoplasmic 2; nuclear factor of activated T-cells, cytoplasmic, calcineurin-dependent 2; nuclear factor of activated T-cells, preexisting component; preexisting nuclear factor of activated T-cells 2; T cell transcription factor NFAT1; T-cell transcription factor NFAT1

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
