Product Description
Von Hippel-Lindau-binding protein 1 (VBP1) binds specifically to cytosolic chaperonin (c-CPN) and transfers target proteins to it. VPB1 binds to nascent polypeptide chain and promotes folding in an environment in which there are many competing pathways for nonnative proteins [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P61758].

Production & Epitope
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to VBP1 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by A305-403A maps to a region between residue 147 to 197 of human Prefoldin subunit 3 using the numbering given in entry P61758.3 (GeneID 7411).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using an anti-Rabbit IgG Light Chain HRP-conjugated antibody with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
