Antiserum was solid phase adsorbed to ensure specificity.

By immunoelectrophoresis, the antibody reacts specifically with Fab fragment of horse IgG and with light chains common to other horse immunoglobulins. No antibody was detected against non-immunoglobulin serum proteins.

This antibody may cross react with Fab Fragments from other species.

Additional Product Information

IgG is the primary immunoglobulin protein found in blood/plasma, and functions to neutralize toxins, active complement, immobilizing pathogens and inducing opsonization, and cell-mediated cytotoxicity. The anti-Fab activity ensures specificity for a single arm of the Fab fragment and not the Fc portion of the antibody.

Applications

Not all listed applications have been specifically tested by our laboratory. For use in precipitin gel reactions (e.g. immunoelectrophoresis (IEP) or double diffusion Ouchterlony (DD)).

Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator.
