Product Description
BAF53A is a 53kd subunit of the BAF (BRG1/brm-associated factor) complex, a SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling and histone acetyltransferase complex that functions in the regulation of gene transcription. In the BAF complex, BAF53A is important to the ATPase activity of SMARCA4/BRG1 and the association of the BAF complex with chromatin. BAF53A also appears to be important to the formation of higher-order chromatin structure and has been shown to associate with mitotic chromosomes. Recently, BAF53A has been found to interact with p53 and repress p53-mediated gene transcription in a BRG1-independent manner.

Production & Epitope
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to BAF53A immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by A301-391A maps to a region between residue 25 and 75 of human BRG1-associated factor, 53 kDa subunit A using the numbering given in entry NP_004292.1 (GeneID 86).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (A120-101P).
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 to 1:500. Epitope retrieval with citrate buffer pH6.0 is recommended for FFPE tissue sections.
