Product Description
Diaphanous 1 is a member of the formin family of proteins that is responsible for actin polymerization and nucleation activity and the formation of linear, unbranched actin cables and stress fibers. Diaphanous 1 is a target of the small GTPase, Rho, and couples Rho and Src tyrosine kinase during signaling and the regulation of actin dynamics. Diaphanous 1 has been linked to heritable nonsyndromic progressive hearing loss.

Production & Epitope
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to Diaphanous 1 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by A300-078A maps to a region between residues 1200 and the C-terminus (residue 1248) of human Diaphanous Homolog 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_005210.1 (GeneID 1729).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (A120-101P).
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:1000 - 1:5000. Epitope retrieval is not recommended.
