Product Description

DDX6 is a member of the DEAD box family of proteins that possesses several conserved motifs which include the highly conserved DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) amino acid sequence motif. The major activity of DEAD box proteins is to function as ATP-dependent RNA helicases. As helicases, DEAD proteins play an important role in all aspects of RNA metabolism and function which include pre-mRNA splicing, RNA synthesis, RNA degradation, RNA export, RNA translation, RNA secondary structure formation, ribosome biogenesis, and the assembly of RNP complexes. DDX6 has been observed to positively regulate growth by modulating gene expression at the translational level.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to DDX6 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by A300-460A maps to a region between residues 1 and 50 of human DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) box polypeptide 6 using the numbering given Swiss-Prot entry P26196 (GeneID 1656).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (A120-101P).

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using an anti-Rabbit IgG Light Chain HRP-conjugated antibody with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 to 1:500. Epitope retrieval with Tris-EDTA pH9.0 is recommended for FFPE tissue sections.
Immunoprecipitation (IP)6 µg/mg lysate
Western Blot (WB)1:5000 - 1:15,000
