Product Description
DjC21 (DnaJ subfamily C member 21) belongs to the Hsp40 (Heat Shock Protein 40) family of proteins that function as co-chaperones to Hsp70. Hsp40 proteins are classified into 3 main subfamilies (A, B, and C). The families are defined by the presence of particular domains which include a highly conserved alpha-helical N-terminal domain termed the J-domain, a glycine/phenylalanine-rich region, a cysteine-rich region, and a C-terminal beta-sheet containing domain. DjC21 is part of subfamily C that bears only the J-domain.

Production & Epitope
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to DjC21 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by A301-884A maps to a region between residue 400 and 450 of human DnaJ (Hsp40) homolog, subfamily C, member 21 using the numbering given in entry NP_001012339.2 (GeneID 134218).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (A120-101P).
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using an anti-Rabbit IgG Light Chain HRP-conjugated antibody with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
