Product Description
eIF2B delta is encoded by the EIF2B4 gene. EIF2B4 is necessary for protein synthesis and is one of five subunits of the eIF2B factor which functions as a GTP exchange factor. The protein encoded by this gene, EIF2B4, is the fourth, or delta subunit. Defects in this gene are a cause of leukoencephalopathy with vanishing white matter (VWM) and ovarioleukodystrophy.

Production & Epitope
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to eIF2B delta/EIF2B4 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by A302-983A maps to a region between residue 473 and 523 of human Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 2B, Subunit 4 delta, 67kDa using the numbering given in entry NP_001029288.1 (GeneID 8890).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using an anti-Rabbit IgG Light Chain HRP-conjugated antibody with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
