Product Description

EFTUD1 is involved in the biogenesis of the 60S ribosomal subunit and translational activation of ribosomes. Together with SBDS, triggers the GTP-dependent release of EIF6 from 60S pre-ribosomes in the cytoplasm, thereby activating ribosomes for translation competence by allowing 80S ribosome assembly and facilitating EIF6 recycling to the nucleus, where it is required for 60S rRNA processing and nuclear export. Has low intrinsic GTPase activity. GTPase activity is increased by contact with 60S ribosome subunits. [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q7Z2Z2].

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to EFTUD1 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by A305-854A maps to a region between residue 700 and 750 of human Elongation factor Tu GTP-binding domain-containing protein 1 using the numbering given in entry Q7Z2Z2.2 (GeneID 79631).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (A120-101P).

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using an anti-Rabbit IgG Light Chain HRP-conjugated antibody with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
