Product Description

IgA is an immunoglobulin that is typically dimeric and held together by a J-chain protein. IgA is typically found near the mucous membranes of the body, including the gut, respiratory system, eyes, and colostrum. Also exists in a secretory form (in mucosal regions) vs. serum IgA, which is found in serum.

Production & Epitope

Antiserum was solid phase adsorbed to ensure class specificity.

By immunoelectrophoresis, the antiserum reacts specifically with dog IgA. No antibody was detected against immunoglobulin light chains or non-immunoglobulin serum proteins. This antibody may cross react with IgA from other species.

Applications

Not all listed applications have been specifically tested by our laboratory.

For use in precipitin gel reactions (e.g. immunoelectrophoresis (IEP) or double diffusion Ouchterlony (DD)).

Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator.
