Product Description

Protein arginine methylation is a form of post-translational modification that is catalyzed by protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs). CARM1 (coactivator-associated arginine methyltransferase 1), also known as PRMT4, has been shown to interact with and methylate RNA splicing factors such as CA150 that link transcription to splicing. In this context, CARM1 may be involved in spinal muscular atrophy pathogenesis. CARM1 has also been found to be a coactivator of the NFKappaB transcription factor and the androgen receptor.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to CARM1 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00045 maps to a region between residue 550 and the C-terminus (residue 585) of human Coactivator-Associated Arginine Methyltransferase 1 using the numbering given in SwissProt entry Q86X55 (GeneID 10498).

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 - 1:500
