Product Description
CBX5 (chromobox protein homolog 5), also known as HP1 (heterochromatin protein 1 homolog alpha), is one of 3 isoforms of HP1 that binds heterochromatin and functions as a structural adaptor to stabilize and organize macromolecular complexes with nucleosomes for higher chromatin structure. All of the HP1 isoforms possess a chromodomain and chromoshadow domain and associate with methylated histones that mediate transcriptional repression.

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to CBX5 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by IHC-00130 maps to a region between residue 150 and the C-terminus (residue 191) of human Chromobox Homolog 5 using the numbering given in entry NP_036249.1 (GeneID 23468).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.
Applications
Epitope exposure is recommended.
Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.
