Product Description
The protein encoded by the gene CCNA2, Cyclin A2, belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family. Members of the cyclin family are characterized by a dramatic periodicity in protein abundance through the cell cycle. Cyclins function as regulators of CDK kinases. Different cyclins exhibit distinct expression and degradation patterns which contribute to the temporal coordination of each mitotic event. In contrast to cyclin A1, which is present only in germ cells, Cyclin A2 is expressed in all tissues tested. Cyclin A2 binds and activates CDC2 or CDK2 kinases, and thus promotes both cell cycle G1/S and G2/M transitions [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene ID: 890].

Production & Epitope
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to CCNA2/Cyclin A2 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by A305-254A maps to a region between residue 382 to 432 of human Cyclin-A2 using the numbering given in entry P20248.2 (GeneID 890).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using an anti-Rabbit IgG Light Chain HRP-conjugated antibody with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
