Product Description

Diaphanous 1 is a member of the formin family of proteins that is responsible for actin polymerization and nucleation activity and the formation of linear, unbranched actin cables and stress fibers. Diaphanous 1 is a target of the small GTPase, Rho, and couples Rho and Src tyrosine kinase during signaling and the regulation of actin dynamics. Diaphanous 1 has been linked to heritable nonsyndromic progressive hearing loss.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to Diaphanous 1 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00571 maps to a region between residues 1200 and the C-terminus (residue 1248) of human Diaphanous Homolog 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_005210.1 (GeneID 1729).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is NOT recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate or tris-EDTA pH9.0 buffer will hinder staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 - 1:500
