Product Description

FALZ is the largest subunit of the nucleosome-remodeling factor (NURF) which catalyzes nucleosome sliding and facilitates chromatin remodeling and transcription. FALZ bears a C-terminal bromodomain and a plant homeodomain (PHD) finger. The PHD finger has been demonstrated to bind methyl-lysine and may function to couple histone trimethylation with chromatin remodeling.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to FALZ/BPTF immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00521 maps to a region between residue 1350 and 1400 of human Fetal Alzheimer Antigen (Bromodomain and PHD Domain Transcription Factor) using the numbering given in entry NP_872579.2 (GeneID 2186).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with tris-EDTA pH9.0 buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
