G9A/EHMT2 is a histone H3-Lys-9 methyltransferase. G9A/EHMT2 has been shown to function as a corepressor by associating with transcriptional regulators such as CDP/cut, Blimp-1/PRDI-BF1, and REST/NRSF. G9A/EHMT2 has also been shown to function as a coactivator for a large family of nuclear receptors.

Production & Epitope
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to G9A/EHMT2 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by IHC-00489 maps to a region between residue 1160 and the C-terminus (residue 1210) of human G9A (Euchromatic Histone-Lysine N-Methyltransferase 2) using the numbering given in entry NP_006700.2 (GeneID 10919).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.
Applications
Epitope exposure is recommended.
Epitope exposure with tris-EDTA pH9.0 buffer will enhance staining.
Likely to work with frozen sections.
