Product Description

GBF1 is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that promotes the exchange of GDP for GTP on ADP ribosylation factor 5(ARF5). GBF1 activity is inhibited by brefeldin, an antibiotic that interferes with protein transport. It has been show to be important to golgi assembly and the coordination of bidirectional transport. Due to these characteristics, GBF1 is also called Golgi-specific brefeldin A-resistance GEF 1.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to GBF1 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00595 maps to a region between residue 1809 and 1859 of human golgi-specific brefeldin A resistance factor 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_004184.1 (GeneID 8729).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate or tris-EDTA pH9.0 buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
