Additional Product Information

JMJD1B is a member of the jumonji (jmj) domain containing gene family of histone demethylases that plays a role in chromatin regulation and influences transcriptional activation and suppression. Some recently characterized members of the jmj family include JARID1A/RBP2, JARID1C, JMJD1A, JMJD1B, JMJD1C, JMJD2A, JMJD2C and JMJD2D. JMJD1B was identified as the 5qNCA gene that lies within a locus on chromosome 5 that is frequently deleted in myeloid leukemias and myelodysplasias. JMJD1B has been demonstrated to have growth suppressive activity and is implicated as a tumor suppressor gene.

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
