Product Description
LARP1 (la-related protein 1) is part of a family of proteins that bears a La motif. The La motif was first identified in the La protein which was isolated as an autoreactive antigen in patients afflicted with systemic lupus erythematosus. Like the La protein, LARP proteins appear to be RNA-binding proteins, and are proposed to play a role in translation elongation and termination.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00559 maps to a region between residue 575 and 625 of human La ribonucleoprotein domain family, member 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_291029.2 (GeneID 23367).
