Product Description

MTA3 (metastasis-associated protein 3) is a component of the NuRD (nucleosome remodeling and histone deacetylation) complex. MTA3 is a member of a family of proteins (MTA1-3) differentially expressed in metastatic breast cancer cells. MTA3 functions as a repressor of the transcription factor Snail, a factor involved in epithelial to mesenchymal transitions. MTA3 expression is estrogen dependent in breast cancer cells. Studies show that ERalpha selectively bind the MTA3 promoter in an SP1-dependent fashion to stimulate MTA3 gene transcription.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to MTA3 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00423 maps to a region between residues 400 and 450 of human metastasis associated 3 using the numbering given in entry Swiss-Prot entry Q9BTC8 (GeneID 57504)

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with tris-EDTA pH9.0 buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 - 1:500
