Product Description

Notch2 is a member of the Notch family of transmembrane receptors. The Notch gene was first reported as a drosophila gene responsible for the presence of notches in the wingblades of a specific strain of flies. The Notch proteins mediate juxtacrine signals between adjacent cells and regulate cell fate determination during development. In mammals there are 4 Notch receptors (Notch 1-4). Like Notch1, Notch 2 is required for embryo viability. Although Notch1 and Notch 2 are functionally similar, they may not serve redundant functions in the cell.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to Notch2 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00539 maps to a region between residue 2421 and 2471 of human neurogenic locus notch homolog protein 2 using the numbering given in entry NP_077719.2 (GeneID 4853).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 - 1:500
