Protein arginine methylation is a form of post-translational modification that is catalyzed by protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs). HMGA1a (high mobility group A) has been identified as a substrate of PRMT6. The identification of HMGA1 as a substrate suggests that PRMT6 is involved in chromatin structure organization and gene regulation.

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to PRMT6 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by IHC-00488 maps to a region between residue 325 and the C-terminus (residue 375) of human Protein Arginine Methyltransferase 6 using the numbering given in entry AAK85733.1 (GeneID 55170).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.
Applications
Epitope exposure is recommended.
Epitope exposure with tris-EDTA pH9.0 buffer will enhance staining.
