Additional Product Information

Raf kinase inhibitor protein (RKIP) binds ATP, opioids and phosphatidylethanolamine. RKIP has lower affinity for phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylcholine. it is a serine protease inhibitor which inhibits thrombin, neuropsin and chymotrypsin but not trypsin, tissue type plasminogen activator and elastase (By similarity). RKIP inhibits the kinase activity of RAF1 by inhibiting its activation and by dissociating the RAF1/MEK complex and acting as a competitive inhibitor of MEK phosphorylation [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P30086].

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).
