Additional Product Information

SAE2 (SUMO-activating enzyme subunit 2) is also known as UBA2 (ubiquitin-like modifier activating enzyme 2). Heterodimers of SAE1 and SAE2 act as an E1 ligase for SUMO1, SUMO2, SUMO3, and probably SUMO4. Heterodimers mediate ATP-dependent activation of SUMO proteins followed by formation of a thioester bond between a SUMO protein and a conserved active site cysteine residue on UBA2/SAE2 [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/ Q9UBT2].

Alternate Names

anthracycline-associated resistance ARX; ARX; HRIHFB2115; SAE2; SUMO1 activating enzyme subunit 2; SUMO-1 activating enzyme subunit 2; SUMO-activating enzyme subunit 2; UBA2, ubiquitin-activating enzyme E1 homolog; ubiquitin-like 1-activating enzyme E1B; Ubiquitin-like modifier-activating enzyme 2

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
