Product Description

TOPORS (topoisomerase I-binding RS protein) was identified in a a yeast two-hybrid screen for proteins that bind the N-terminus of topoisomerase I. TOPORS contains a RING-type zinc-finger domain and an RS-rich region. TOPORS has been found to possess both ubiquitin and SUMO-1 E3 ligase activity. It can ubiquitinate and sumoylate p53 and may possibly function as a tumor suppressor. Defects in TOPORS are the cause of retinitis pigmentosa type 31.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to TOPORS immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00629 maps to a region between residue 995 and 1045 of human topoisomerase I binding, arginine/serine-rich using the numbering given in entry topoisomerase I binding, arginine/serine-rich NP_005793.2 (GeneID 10210).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 - 1:500
