Product Description

UV radiation resistance associated gene (UVRAG) was first identified as a gene that could complement UV sensitivity in xeroderma pigmentosum cells. UVRAG may have tumor suppressor activity as mutations in the UVRAG gene have been associated with various human colon cancer cells and tissues. UVRAG has been shown to interact with Beclin 1 (Bcl-2-interacting protein), a protein that forms a complex with class III PI-3-kinase (PI3KC3) and is involved in autophagy. In this complex, UVRAG is proposed to function as a positive regulator of autophagy and a negative regulator of the growth of tumor cells.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to UVRAG immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00590 maps to a region between residue 649 and 699 of human UV radiation resistance associated gene using the numbering given in entry NP_003360.2 (GeneID 7405).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer or tris-EDTA pH9.0 buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 - 1:500
