Product Description

Vinculin is a cytoskeletal protein associated with cell-cell and cell-matrix junctions, where it is thought to function as one of several interacting proteins involved in anchoring F-actin to the membrane. Defects in vinculin are the cause of cardiomyopathy dilated type 1W, a disorder characterized by ventricular dilation and impaired systolic function, resulting in congestive heart failure and arrhythmia [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (GeneID: 7414)].

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to Vinculin immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00700 maps to a region between residue 1016 and 1066 of human vinculin using the numbering given in entry NP_003364.1 (GeneID 7414).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 - 1:500
