WW domain-containing oxidoreductase (WWOX) is a putative oxidoreductase, acts as a tumor suppressor, plays a role in apoptosis, and is required for normal bone development (by similarity). WWOX may function synergistically with p53/TP53 to control genotoxic stress-induced cell death. It plays a role in TGFB1 signaling and TGFB1-mediated cell death and may also play a role in tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-mediated cell death. WWOX inhibits Wnt signaling, probably by sequestering DVL2 in the cytoplasm [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q9NZC7].
