Product Description

Acinus (Apoptotic Chromatin Condensation Inducer of the Nucleus) has been demonstrated to play a dual role in apoptosis and mRNA splicing. A proteolytic fragment of acinus generated by caspase cleavage appears to mediate chromatin condensation and DNA fragmentation. Acinus is also part of the ASAP (apoptosis and splicing-associated protein) complex that is deposited at exon-exon junctions during RNA splicing. In this complex acinus may be involved in pre-mRNA splicing.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to ACINUS/ACN1 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00215 maps to a region between residue 1291 and the C-terminus (residue 1341) of human apoptotic chromatin condensation inducer 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_055792.1 (GeneID 22985).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 - 1:500
