Product Description

ATRX (alpha-thalassemia mental retardation X-linked) is a chromatin remodeling protein and transacting regulator of globin gene expression that has been linked to several X-linked mental retardation syndromes and hematologic diseases such as myelodysplasia. ATRX possesses an ATPase/helicase domain and is related to the SWI/SNF family of proteins. Mutations in ATRX have been demonstrated to cause changes in DNA methylation patterns and gene expression important to development.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to ATRX immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00236 maps to a region between residue 2442 and the C-terminus (residue 2492) of human alpha thalassemia/mental retardation syndrome X-linked using the numbering given in entry NP_000480.2 (GeneID 546).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 - 1:500
