Production Procedures

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to CKAP4 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00655 maps to a region between residue 500 and 550 of human cytoskeleton-associated protein 4 using the numbering given in entry NP_006816.2 (GeneID 10970).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Additional Product Information

Cytoskeleton-associated protein 4 (CKAP4) is also known as p63 and cytoskeleton-linking membrane protein 63kDa (CLIMP-63). It was first described as a palmitoylated single-pass transmembrane receptor that localized to the rough endoplasmic reticulum as well as the cell membrane. CKAP4 has been shown to help anchor endoplasmic reticulum to microtubules.

Alternate Names

63 kDa membrane protein; 63-kDa cytoskeleton-linking membrane protein; CLIMP-63; cytoskeleton-associated protein 4; ERGIC-63; p63; transmembrane protein (63kD), endoplasmic reticulum/Golgi intermediate compartment; type-II transmembrane protein p63

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
