Product Description

DDX19 is a member of the DEAD box family of proteins that possesses several conserved motifs which include the highly conserved DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) amino acid sequence motif. The major activity of DEAD box proteins is to function as ATP-dependent RNA helicases. As helicases, DEAD proteins play an important role in all aspects of RNA metabolism and function which include pre-mRNA splicing, RNA synthesis, RNA degradation, RNA export, RNA translation, RNA secondary structure formation, ribosome biogenesis, and the assembly of RNP complexes. DDX19 may be involved in mRNA transport.

Production & Epitope

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to DDX19 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00514 maps to a region between residue 450 and the C-terminus (residue 479) of human DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) box polypeptide 19B using the numbering given in entry NP_009173.1 (GeneID 11269). The epitope is highly conserved with DDX19A (GeneID 55308), but crossreactivity of the antibody with this homolog has not been assessed.

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with tris-EDTA pH9.0 buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
