Product Description

MafA is a member of the Maf basic leucine-zipper containing transcription factor family. MafA is an islet-enriched protein that plays a role in beta cell-specific and glucose-responsive insulin gene transcription. MafA is expressed exclusively in cell populations that will become islet beta cells.

Production & Epitope

The epitope recognized by IHC-00352 maps to a region between residue 300 and the C-terminus (residue 359) of mouse v-maf musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma oncogene homolog A using the numbering given in entry NP_919331.1 (GeneID 378435).

Antibody was affinity purified using the peptide immobilized on solid support.

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer or tris-EDTA pH9 buffer will enhance staining.

Extended incubation with primary antibody (16-24 hours) at room temperature is recommended.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)1:100 - 1:500
