Production Procedures

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to SPTAN1/Alpha II-spectrin immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by A301-249A maps to a region between residue 2422 and 2472 of human spectrin, alpha, non-erythrocytic 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_003118.1 (GeneID 6709).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to SPTAN1/Alpha II-spectrin immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by A301-249A-T maps to a region between residue 2422 and 2472 of human spectrin, alpha, non-erythrocytic 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_003118.1 (GeneID 6709).

Additional Product Information

SPTAN1/Alpha II-spectrin is one of two polypeptide chains (alpha and beta) that are part of the fodrin tetramer. Fodrin functions to link actin filaments to the plasma membrane and is a major neuronal cytoskeletal protein. Fodrin has been linked to neurogenerative and autoimmune diseases.

Alternate Names

alpha-fodrin; alpha-II spectrin; EIEE5; epididymis secretory sperm binding protein; fodrin alpha chain; NEAS; spectrin alpha chain, non-erythrocytic 1; spectrin, non-erythroid alpha chain; spectrin, non-erythroid alpha subunit; SPTA2

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).
