Additional Product Information

Transcription elongation factor S-II protein 2 (TFIIS) is necessary for efficient RNA polymerase II transcription elongation past template-encoded arresting sites. The arresting sites in DNA have the property of trapping a certain fraction of elongating RNA polymerases that pass through, resulting in locked ternary complexes. Cleavage of the nascent transcript by S-II allows the resumption of elongation from the new 3'-terminus [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q15560].

Alternate Names

epididymis secretory sperm binding protein; GTF2S; SII; TCEA; TF2S; TFIIS; transcription elongation factor A (SII), 1; transcription elongation factor A protein 1; transcription elongation factor S-II protein 1; transcription elongation factor TFIIS.o; transcription factor IIS

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
