Additional Product Information

UBR1 is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that is a component of the N-end rule pathway. UBR1 recognizes and binds to proteins bearing specific N-terminal residues that are destabilizing according to the N-end rule, leading to their ubiquitination and subsequent degradation. UBR1 may be involved in pancreatic homeostasis. UBR1 binds leucine and is a negative regulator of the leucine-mTOR signaling pathway, thereby controlling cell growth [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/ Q8IWV7].

Alternate Names

E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase UBR1; E3a ligase; JBS; N-recognin-1; RING-type E3 ubiquitin transferase UBR1; ubiquitin ligase E3 alpha-I; ubiquitin-protein ligase E3-alpha; ubiquitin-protein ligase E3-alpha-1; ubiquitin-protein ligase E3-alpha-I

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
