Additional Product Information

Oct-4 (Octamer-binding protein 4), also known as Oct 3/4, is a transcription factor that binds to the octamer motif (5'-ATTTGCAT-3'). Oct-4 forms a trimeric complex with SOX2 on DNA and controls the expression of a number of genes involved in embryonic development such as YES1, FGF4, UTF1 and ZFP206. It is critical for early embryogenesis and for embryonic stem cell pluripotency [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P20263].

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
